Abstract: The“Three Gentlemen”,namely Mas'ud Sabri,Isa Alptekin and Muhammad Amin ,represent the anti- Soviet and anti - communist political clique in the“East Turkistan Movement”. After the collapse of“the Islamic Republic of East Turkistan”in Kashgar in 1933,the “Three Gentlemen”sought support from the National Government in the disguise of accepting the Three People's Principles ( Nationalism,Democracy, the People's Livelihood ) and by preaching the “high degree of autonomy” of “Chinese Turkistan”,and they maintained the mutual - use relationship with the National Government for over 30 years. In 1949,Ashan and Imin fled to Kashmir and finally arrived in Turkey where they held in public the banner of“Independence Union of East Turkistan”and did not accept the“Anti - communist Union of Xinjiang”formed by the National Government in Taipei, though Zhu Jiahua (朱家骅),a high - ranking official from the National Government, persuaded again and again in the capacity of“friend”,they refused to maintain the relationship of outward union but division at heart with the national government in Taiwan. Erkin Alptekin and Rebiya Kadeer, the two presidents of“World Uighur Congress”,the major organization of “East Turkistan ”,are disciples and followers of the“Three Gentleman”.
