Turkish Parliament Extends Troops Presence in Iraq, Syria
ERBIL - Turkey's Parliament on Wednesday approved a motion to extend the presence of the Turkish troops in Iraq and Syria for another year.
The motion enjoyed a majority of votes from different parliamentary factions, according to which the Turkish army would be allowed to carry out cross-border military operations in Iraq and Syria.
The extension will be effective October 30, 2020 until October 30, 2021, Anadolu Agency explained in a report.
The Turkish parliament has extended this motion six times so far since it was first approved in 2014.
