Abstract: Uzbekistan's power shift at the end of 2016 became a big event in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent. After the new president, Mirziyoyev, launched a series of internal and diplomatic initiatives --- increasing the political participation of the public, helping the medium and small sized enterprises and moderating relations with neighboring countries, a very ruling style and a new ruling concept different from the former President Karimov emerged. Some changes have taken place. It is too early, however, to regard it as the Mirziyoyev’s Era for Uzbekistan. The rumors about the fierce political struggles in Uzbekistan were occasionally reported by foreign media. No doubt, however, the new president's steady, moderate and open ruling style is consolidating his political foundation and continuing to win his support around the world community. Perhaps the new changes will be in full swing across the country in the near future, which will produce a lasting effect on the geopolitical pattern throughout Central Asia and on the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
